Sinfonia Orchestra is composed of students in grades 10-12 who have completed 9th grade (Concert) orchestra.
Sinfonia Orchestra students can expect to perform at all orchestra concerts (4), ISSMA organizational contest, and one other clinic experience each year. After school rehearsals are required the day before a concert (4/year).
Students in Sinfonia Orchestra continue to develop important techniques required to perform grade 2-3 literature. This includes, but is not limited to: one and two octave scales, fundamental bow strokes, identifying and performing expressive articulations, introductory shifting, introductory vibrato, music fluency exercises, and more.
