Frequently asked questions

What is ZOinc?

Our Parent Booster Organization - Zionsville Orchestras Incorporated. Learn more here.

Does my student need to own an instrument?

Students are encouraged to own an instrument, and they likely acquired one during their middle school orchestra experience. Cellists and Bassists are provided with school-owned instruments to use during the school day, so they do not need to bring their instruments for class.

Are there fees associated with Orchestra?

Fees are collected by ZOinc each year to support the orchestra program with various expenses: sectional coaches, trips, festival costs, concert uniforms and more. Click here for more info

Where can I order merch?

From time to time during the school year ZOinc will sponsor a spirit wear drive. Watch for an email from us.

How can I contact you?

You can email ZOinc at zoincinfo@gmail.com or reach Director Keegan Lammers at klammers@zcs.k12.in.us

I want to help with the orchestra but I don't know how.

We are always looking for new parents/guardians to join ZOinc! If you’re interested in helping, please contact us here.

Do concerts cost money?

Most ZCHS Orchestra concerts take place in the STAR Bank Performing Arts Center (PAC). Because this is a sponsored facility, all events are ticketed. Tickets must be purchased at https://www.zionsvillepac.org/ prior to the concert. Livestream tickets are also available for out-of-town family and friends!

If ticket purchases present a financial difficulty to you/your family, please reach out to Ms. Lammers. We will make our orchestra concerts to be accessible to all families.

What is ISSMA?

Indiana State School Music Association. Mission statement: "provide educationally evaluated music performance opportunities for students and teachers of school music ensembles from member schools in Indiana, to assist in the development of performance oriented assessment of standards for music education, to promote the inclusion of music ensembles as part of each school's core curriculum, and to offer educational support to fulfill this mission."

All ZCHS Orchestras participate in ISSMA Large Group district contest in April. Other optional ISSMA opportunities include district and state Solo and Ensemble. See Ms. Lammers for more information.
