(Honors) Chamber Orchestra is a select group of 9th-12th grade students who demonstrate the highest levels of musicianship at their audition.

Students in Chamber Orchestra can expect to perform at all orchestra concerts (4), ISSMA organization contest, an off-site clinic/performance experience, potentially IMEA conference, and several community functions each year. Occasional after-school rehearsals may be required and will be communicated several weeks in advance.

Chamber Orchestra members are expected to perform a wide variety of music, and often juggle several pieces at a time for various events and performances.

Students typically perform grade 3.5-5 music. In class, we dedicate time to develop/refine the technique and music theory knowledge required to perform at the highest level. This may include, but is not limited to, two and three octave scales, vibrato, frequent shifting to 3rd-5th positions, various advanced bow strokes, interval identification, and more.

Additionally, Chamber Orchestra students develop advanced ensemble communication and leadership skills throughout the year.
